De-Stress & Recharge at Stock Goods, Woodstock, VT
This somatic workout class invites you to pause from your normal pace to de-stress and reinvigorate yourself. The carefully crafted sequence is designed to help you release tension and reach an extraordinary level of presence and awareness. You’ll experience simple yet powerful movement, somatic and neural exercises, and guided self-inquiry in every session. It's not all serious and quiet! Joy is a key ingredient in building resilience, and we really lean in throughout class. Watch a video to see what the class looks like here!
Vibe: Wear your most comfortable sweats, bring a mat or blanket and notebook, be receptive. And to answer an FAQ: we do not share what we write about. That’s just for you. The physical activity level varies - it is an all levels class.

Tension Releasing Exercises at the Woodstock Athletic Club
Tension Releasing Exercises (TRE®, spoken as T.R.E.) is a simple body-based method that calms your nervous system and releases deep muscular patterns of stress and tension. The TRE practice helps you activate the primal reflex of somatic shaking, which naturally occurs in every human being. TRE is a safe and effective stress release technique for most people, and can be complementary to talk therapy or other somatic work.
Vibe: Wear workout clothes/may get sweaty. Think fatiguing your legs while upright including a wall sit, and then lying down on your mat in constructive rest. Moderate physical activity level.
Afterwards: My intention is for you to have a body-led experience, increase self-compassion, and feel rebalanced like you got a massage from the inside out.

Somatic Stress Release Workshop
An experiential workshop featuring TRE®
Sunday, Nov. 3rd from 4-5:30pm at Open Door in downtown White River Junction, VT (2 SPOTS LEFT!)
All of our experience of the world--from frustration and anxiety to overwhelm or burnout-- is a symptom of nervous system dysregulation. If you want to change your experience, it's crucial to practice supporting your nervous system by signaling the body to return to a state of rest and recuperation. In this workshop, you’ll learn different somatic stress release practices using the breath and body, and you’ll be introduced to Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) or have an opportunity to deepen your TRE practice.
TRE is a body-based method for releasing deeply held stress and tension in the muscles and connective tissue. You'll activate the natural vibration or tremor mechanism available in every human being, and then lie down and literally shake away stress. This workshop includes intentional breathing, stretching, somatic shaking and reflection prompts. Dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat, water, and your favorite pen.

Please note this workshop is for age 16+. Contraindications for TRE are epilepsy, seizures, schizophrenia, or if you are currently pregnant. It’s a safe and effective method for most people. Please reach out with any questions!
