Meet your guide

Hi, I’m Carolyn. I’m a stress resilience trainer, leadership coach, wife, mother, creative producer and TRE® Provider. A huge reason I’ve been able to enjoy such a dynamic life is that I discovered mind/body stress resilience practices nearly twenty years ago.

It all comes down to having awareness of your nervous system. I believe tending to the nervous system is one of the most empowering and important things we can do as human beings, because it is key to how we experience life and make decisions.

As someone who dealt with anxiety and control issues since I was a young child, the thing I wish everyone could learn is TRE®. I've had a personal TRE® practice for 19 years, which I used to relieve post-traumatic stress and anxiety from working on my first documentary project and making it through a natural disaster. I continued to use TRE® to support myself while traveling globally and producing humanitarian and conservation documentaries for National Geographic and other mission-driven organizations.

When the pandemic upheaval began in 2020, I used TRE often during lockdown and it worked so well, friends kept asking me what I was doing to be noticeably thriving. I knew it was time to “come out of the closet” from using this privately for so long, and to become a certified provider to help others learn this life-enhancing practice. Since then, I’ve guided 400 people and witnessed my clients completely change their relationship to stress and anxiety.

Here’s how it’ll work:

I'll guide you through just enough science and context to understand WHY we are doing what we’re doing, but otherwise our virtual sessions will be experiential. You can think of this like gentle, body-based stress support to help you change your physiological state (as opposed to a therapy group where participants are talking about and intellectualizing their experience).

These groups are small (10 people) to create a predictable space, allow for individualized attention. The experiential sessions are 60 min., and there’s optional 30-min. Q&A time after the first and last sessions.

TRE is simple yet powerful and it’s NOT recommended that you try it on your own without a certified Provider to guide you. For most people, doing 4-6 guided sessions creates the familiarity and safety they need to be able to run with it and use the method on their own, forever.

  • TRE® is considered to be as safe and effective as any other exercise-based, stress-release practice (such as yoga and tai chi), for most people. However, it is not advisable to use it as a substitute for trauma recovery procedures of a medical or psychological nature.

    TRE® should not be used with those who have any of the following diagnoses:

    • bipolar conditions

    • borderline personality disorder

    • epilepsy

    • manic/depressive

    • psychosis

    • schizophrenia

    • severe depression

    TRE is also not recommended for pregnant people.

  • TRE® can be used to relieve stress, lower anxiety, build resilience and reduce feelings of overwhelm. It restores and supports physical, mental and emotional health.

  • TRE® helps you activate the somatic shaking response, or neurogenic tremoring. It's a natural, innate tension release mechanism found in every mammal's body.

    The tremoring isn't a part of the stress itself, but rather a part of the body's drive to release and discharge the stored stress, to reset the nervous system and return the body to a state of balance.
